Voltage lands Ant & Dec commission

Voltage TV Lands 90-minute science doc

ITV will trace the ancestors of Ant and Dec back thousands of years in a 90-minute doc from Voltage TV and the presenting duo’s indie Mitre Television.

The film will use innovations in DNA science and technology to trace their ancestors back far further than other genealogy shows.

Along the way they will also meet some long-lost, distant relatives.

The film was commissioned by ITV head of entertainment Shu Greene who said it would leave viewers “on the edge of their seats.”

“There are twists and turns and parallels to each other’s histories that will leave viewers absolutely gobsmacked.”

Ant and Dec added: “Tracing our ancestors using pioneering DNA methods has been a fascinating and emotional process so far. We are looking forward to sharing our journey with the audience.”
